This message is regards to the loss of Alex Boelk. We will be canceling school on Thursday, September 22nd to allow any staff members and students to attend the funeral service at 11 AM at the Apple River Event Center. This school day will be made up at the end of the school year.
The visitation will be held at the funeral home in Warren tomorrow from 4 – 8 PM. We encourage you to support Alex’s family through this rough time.
Our senior class is selling T-shirts to support the family. Shirts are $15 and you may contact Ethan Wybourn to order. Please have the money in by the end of the school day on Wednesday.
A GoFundMe campaign has also been set up by a friend of the family for financial support. (Warren Schools is not affiliated with the campaign.)
We have extra support services here at the school during this time for our students. Please support one another and be strong. We will get through this together as one.
Week two of the award winning Hometown Throwdown video update series is live on MyStateLive.com. These weekly updates are written, produced, filmed and edited by Mr. Renz’s Journalism class and entered into a contest against area schools. The school with the most views wins a cash prize. Let’s win again this year!
Please watch and, if you’re on Facebook, share our post with your friends.
Also, if there’s anything going on that you would like highlighted in the series, let Mr. Renz know and he’ll dispatch a student reporter to cover the event. It can be anything school-related, not just sports.
Our friends at River Ridge will be live streaming friday’s Warren at River Ridge football game. If you can’t make it out to the game, you can cheer for the Warriors in the comfort of your own home. Check it out on the RRTV on Ustream.
Watch the Warriors taken on the Wildcats live on YouTube. Click here to view the event on YouTube.
It may be sweltering out now, but cold weather is coming sooner than we know it. We want to make sure you’re all set to get notifications from the school in the event of a weather closing or other emergency.
We also send out friendly reminders for upcoming events. Now’s a great time to login to the SchoolMessenger InfoCenter to update your settings. See the video below for a quick introduction to InfoCenter. You can access a direct link by visiting the Parent Home Page.
If you have troubles logging in, try the “forgot password” option on SchoolMessenger and put in your email. You may have an account already from when we used ContactManager.
If you are unable to create an account, that means we don’t have your email on file. Call the school and ask the secretary to add your email to your parent record in our SIS, InformatioNOW (aka iNow).
We’re looking for photos for the 100 year celebration of the Warren Jr/Sr High School building. If you have any historical photos or video of the building or just Warren school life in general from the past 100 years, please send them to [email protected] If you can provide years and descriptions, that would be a great help. Thanks!
