The health and safety of our students and staff remains our school district’s priority. With that being said, in collaboration with the Jo Daviess County Health Department, we have decided to implement an adaptive pause starting tomorrow, January 12 through the remainder of the week. This is in response to the increasing number of individuals testing positive to COVID-19 as well as the increasing number of close contacts. Extracurricular activities will be canceled during this period as well. We plan to resume in-person learning and extracurricular activities on Tuesday, January 18. Additionally, on this date, the school district will have a full-time school nurse working for the district.
During this adaptive pause, students and staff will engage in remote learning. Our SIP day will be moved from Friday to Wednesday with the professional development time in the morning. Therefore, students will begin their remote learning at 11:30 tomorrow. On Thursday and Friday, we will have full remote learning days. Building principals will be sending out another all-call with specific details for your student’s schedule.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation and flexibility. We understand the burden this puts on households, and would not implement this adaptive pause if we did not believe it was necessary to keep our students and staff healthy.
