Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and its safety protocols, we will no longer have bus drivers available to run bus routes to deliver materials this afternoon or next week. Therefore, materials for remote learning will have to be picked up outside the main office of the school. Materials are currently outside and will be out until 5 PM today. They will also be available Monday morning before school.
We apologize for any inconvenience through this unfortunate situation.
We, at Warren CUSD 205, thank you for your cooperation, flexibility, and support through these challenging times. We have continued to track the health and safety of our students and staff. Unfortunately, the health of our students and staff has continued to decline. We have experienced an increase of positive cases as well as close contacts. We are also waiting on others’ test results.
Therefore, in collaboration with the Jo Daviess County Health Department, we have made the decision to extend our Remote Learning through Monday, November 2. There is no school on Tuesday, November 3 due to Election Day. We plan to resume in-person learning on Wednesday, November 4. By extending our remote learning for a full two weeks, we will be practicing what is known in the medical community as an adaptive pause. This break in person-to-person contact covers the incubation period of the virus with the purpose to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Remote learning will occur next Monday through Thursday. We will host virtual Parent/Teacher conferences Thursday evening as well as Friday morning. Monday, November 2, will be a remote learning day. We expect students to be online following their normal school schedule on remote learning days. We must take attendance on these days and continue progressing through curriculum; therefore, it is critical that students are online and engaged in the classroom.
School lunch will be offered to families during this period. If interested, please complete the survey on our school website by clicking the blue button entitled “Remote Learner Meal Signup” or click here. These meals can be picked up outside the school building between 11 AM – Noon each day.
School materials for this period will be made available to students. Students who were previously enrolled in Remote Learning will get their materials delivered on Thursday, October 22 as originally planned. Students who were enrolled in in-person learning will get their items for next week on Friday, October 23. For students who typically ride the school bus in the afternoon: We plan to deliver packets to these students on the school bus starting at 1 PM on Friday, October 23. For students who typically are picked up on Mary Street or walk home after school: Packets will be placed outside the main school office for pick up on Friday. If any of these methods do not work for you, please contact your classroom teacher or building principal to make accommodations.
During this time, the school building will remain closed to the public. Prior to reentry buildings will be cleaned and sanitized to ensure the safest environment for all. The district will continue to utilize SchoolMessenger phone messaging as well as email communications for immediate notifications. Please regularly check your email and visit the district website at 205warren.net for the most up to date information.

Dear Warren Elementary Parents/Guardians:
Our first quarter concludes Friday, October 23. Report cards and MAP reports will be sent home on Thursday, October 29. We encourage you to take the time to review your student’s report card and MAP scores with both your student and classroom teacher. Furthermore, set goals for this next quarter with your student. Setting high expectations and giving support is important for your student’s future. Below is more information in regards to Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held virtually this year utilizing Google Meet. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be Thursday, October 29 from 4 PM – 8 PM and Friday, October 30 from 8 AM – 12PM. Please call the elementary office (815-745-2653 and dial 2 at the prompt) and set an appointment up with Mrs. Roberts for a meeting with your elementary teacher(s). Additionally, this year, you will have to provide an email address. The classroom teacher will send this email address the invite for the Google Meet Parent/Teacher Conference. If you do not have an email address, please let us know and we will explore options including a teleconference over the phone. Please call and arrange this meeting by October 23. We strive for and expect 100% parental involvement as it is a critical component of our school system and your student’s success. Reminder: There will be this year’s normal 1:05 PM Dismissal on Thursday, October 29 for students and no school for students on Friday, October 30.
I also wanted to inform you about the Halloween Parade. Unfortunately, we will not be able to host this year’s Halloween Parade. Individual classrooms will find ways to have fun socially distanced in their respective classrooms to celebrate such missed events.
I hope all of you engage in Parent/Teacher Conferences this year. It has been an unusual year to say the least. It is critical that we connect and continue to stay on the same page as we navigate through these unprecedented times. We look forward to working with all of you as we progress through the school year and strive for excellence in all of our future endeavors.
