Please fulfill your civic duty by completing your census and increase the amount of federal funding our communities receive for community services such as public services, schools, hospitals, and fire departments. These figures also determine how many seats are allocated for Illinois in the House of Representatives. Furthermore, these figures help drive plans for new homes, businesses, and improvements to neighborhoods. Please take a few minutes today to complete your census, thank you.
Warren Elementary School’s preschool program is designed to provide free educational services to families with children ages 3 – 5 who are not eligible for kindergarten. To be considered for this program, children need to be screened. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this screening will be conducted over the phone.
If you would like to have your child(ren) screened, please call Ms. Katrya Lessman at 815-291-5408 or email her at [email protected]. You may also call Warren Elementary School at 815-745-2653 if you have any questions. Please feel free to leave a message and we will call you back.
The deadline to call or email is Friday, July 31, 2020.
Dear Warren CUSD 205 Families:
Warren CUSD 205 will continue to serve breakfast and lunch meals as we have during this fourth quarter until the conclusion of the school year. Our final distribution day will be May 21 as we will provide additional food on that day for May 22.
Our local food pantry, Caring Neighbors Outreach Food Pantry (119 W. Main St. next to Casey’s), has reached out to us informing us that they are confident to fill this void during the summer. Opposed to daily meals, they will provide food on a monthly basis. The food can be picked up each Saturday morning between 9:00 – 11:00 AM.
I hope you have found this service useful as we navigate through these unprecedented times. Feel free to reach out to us if we can be of assistance in anyway. You may also contact Shirley Miller at Caring Neighbors at (815) 745-3441 for more information on their services.
Dear Warren CUSD 205 Community:
Thank you for your flexibility, cooperation, and dedication to continue the education of our students as we take precautions to keep our community safe. Parents/Guardians have been instrumental in this process, and we need to remain in constant communication as we close out the school year these next few weeks. None of us predicted our school year to end in such fashion, but I am proud of the resilience shown by all the stakeholders of our educational community: students, teachers, parents, administration, Board of Education, and community members. Therefore, once again, thank you for your efforts through this pandemic.
This week, I want to remind all of you that it is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are blessed at Warren CUSD 205 to have such a dedicated team of educators. All of our worlds were flipped upside down suddenly due to COVID-19. Without hesitation, teachers started working around the clock to prepare methods to continue each student’s learning. While building the resources to strategically continue students’ progressions through their school curricula, they were determined to design the teaching to best suit the needs of many diverse students and families who are all battling different circumstances due to COVID-19.
While everyone needs to be thanked for their efforts and victories thus far through this pandemic, I encourage all of you to send a special thank you to our teaching staff. Please make sure they receive the necessary love and encouragement through these unprecedented times. This is uncharted territory for all of us and we need to remain unified to overcome the challenges.
I hope you all stay healthy and well. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us to assist in any way possible.
