Safety Precaution Letter

Dear Warren Warriors:

As you may be aware of the tragedy, a former student of Warren Schools was the victim of a homicide in Freeport on Friday evening. The visitation and funeral will be held in Warren on Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Due to the nature of these acts of violence, Warren CUSD 205 and Warren Police Department will be taking precautionary measures in the best interest of our students and community. There will be an increased presence of law enforcement during these periods within our community. The school district will be in a perimeter lockdown Friday morning. This means that our school day will function within the perimeter of our building as a typical school day. However, we will not have any outdoor activities and exterior doors will be locked as always. In regards to the ballgame on Thursday evening, there will be an increase of police presence and prepared for any type of lockdown if something were to happen within our community.

Once again, we would like to reiterate that these actions are strictly precautionary. We have no reason to believe that our school district or community are in danger of any threat. As always, Warren CUSD 205 and Warren Police Department will communicate and collaborate to ensure the safety of all of our stakeholders. If you have any questions/concerns, feel free to contact Superintendent Teske or Chief Bohnsack.

Thank you,
Shawn Teske Warren CUSD 205 Superintendent
Bryan Bohnsack, Warren Police Department Chief of Police
