Family and Consumer Sciences

900 Adult Living & Parenting     (ERVDS HE 0110, HE 0030)  (Elective)  (All Year Course)

Learning experience will be provided in the areas of personal decisions, meal planning, budgeting, careers, apartment living, wedding planning and parenting.  A concentrated study of the care and development of the child form conception through adolescence and laboratory experience working with children will be emphasized second semester.

Prerequisite - Junior

910 Clothing & Textiles     (ERVDS HE 0040)  ( Elective)  (All Year Course)   203

The class is a laboratory class in clothing construction, textiles and wardrobe planning.

Prerequisite - Sophomore

920 Foods & Nutrition      (ERVDS HE 0050)       (Elective)   (All Year Course) 203

This course in an in-depth study of foods.  It includes the nutritive contribution of foods to the body and laboratory experience in food preservation, meal planning and food preparation.  Included in the second semester will be the study and preparation of foreign foods, sugar cookery and cake decoration.

930 Orientation to Family & Consumer Sciences  (Home Economics)     (ERVDS HE 0010)  (Elective)  (All Year Course)  103

Introduction to nutrition, basic food preparation, textile, personal grooming, color and design, construction of a garment, and child development will be presented in this class.
