Grading

Grades will be assigned by the following percentages

Grades are determined by total points

A= 100-90%     B= 89-80%   C= 79-70%    D= 69-60%    F= 59-0%

Homework Policy

All homework is due at the beginning of the class period before I begin teaching, unless otherwise directed. Students will NOT be allowed to leave the room after class has begun to get assignments from their lockers. Late work will not be accepted.

TURN your homework into the homework basket on Mrs. Davies’ desk!!!

If you fail to complete an assignment, you will be required to fill out a missing homework sheet. It is your responsibility to fill out this sheet, and turn it into the homework basket. You will be given 1 warning for failure to complete the sheet for a missing assignment, after that, you will receive a detention for failure to follow classroom directions.

Students may have one "late" assignment per quarter. YOU MUST STILL COMPLETE THE ASSIGNMENT AND TURN IT IN THE NEXT CLASS PERIOD.

Any homework not turned in after the “free assignment” will result in a score of zero.

The “free assignment” cannot be used for projects, papers or presentations.

Your "free assignment" will be entered into I-NOW as 5 extra credit points. If you use your "free assignment" you lose the extra credit points, however, if you do not use your "free assignment" then the extra credit stays on your grade!

Absences

In case of an excused absence students will have two days upon returning to make up any missed work or to make other arrangements. If you do not make up your work within 2 days, you will receive zeros. Any assignments that were due on the day that you were sick, are due the day you return, or you will receive a zero.

If you miss a test day, you will be required to take the test within two days of being absent. For example, you miss Monday; your test should be made up by the end of the day on Wednesday!!!!!  Be prepared to do so!!!!! You must set up a time with Mrs. Davies to make-up your test. IT CANNOT BE TAKEN DURING CLASS TIME!!!!

It is your responsibility to ask for make-up work; failure to do so, will affect your grade.

Plagiarism and Cheating

Plagiarism and Cheating WILL NOT be TOLERATED!!!!!!

Cheating involves copying or not doing your own work.

Plagiarism is not citing information you’ve learned from other sources and attempting to pass it as your own.  Cite your sources in all of your writing!!! It is better to over cite then NOT cite at all!!!!! If you have questions, please ask.

If you are caught cheating or plagiarizing, I will take your assignment, and hold onto it for the remainder of the school year. You will NOT get your assignment back.

If you are caught cheating for another class, I will take those assignments and turn them into that classroom teacher.

 Consequences

1st Offense: Zero on the assignment, and a classroom detention.

2nd Offense: Zero on the assignment, classroom detention, and a referral to an administrator.
