Classroom rules are posted in the gym. PE is worth one full credit.
OBJECTIVES
1) All students will be expected to
participate in discussion of the material presented.
2) Students will be able to pass written and
skill tests over each unit taught.
3) Each student will be required to keep a
Journal of his or her workouts in the Fitness Center.
4) Every student will be assessed on their
fitness improvement.
PHYSICAL
EDUCATION UNITS:
Fitness Concepts,
Physical Activity and Fat Control, Cardiovascular Fitness, Muscular Strength
and Endurance, Flexibility, Skill & Health-Related Fitness, Choosing
Nutritious Foods, Team Activities, Weight Training and Conditioning. SENIOR SEMINAR: Seniors will also be assigned a packet that
will be due at the end of each quarter having to do with lifetime physical
fitness.
Outdoor Activities Curriculum: Archery, Miniature Golf, Frisbee Golf, Flag
Football, Soccer, Volley Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, Fitness Walking, and
Orienteering.
Indoor
Activities Curriculum: Volleyball, Basketball, Weight
Conditioning, Circuit Training, Frisbee Basketball, Kinball,
Speedball, Pickleball, Shuffleboard, Table Tennis,
Roller-skating, Eclipse Ball, Cageball, Step
Aerobics,, Satryan Ball
Soccer, Kinball and Game Design.
Assessements: Grading of Logs • Muscle groups
match exercise picked • Exercises
match appropriate muscle group •
Progression • Proper Dating of
Logs • ( Days in class lifting (part of class participation). Written and Skill Tests, Peer Assessments, Warren
Physical Fitness Assessment (WPFA), Fall Fitness Plan, Students must
participate or receive a grade of 0, FitTest, 3-Minute Step Test and a Core Training
Course. Student will input Fitness
Test results and all points earned in class on the Excel Program on the
computer.

SEMESTER
EXAMS: All students are required to take a fall and spring written semester
exam if WPFA standards are not met.
FITNESS CENTER:
Students will perform the Bigger, Faster, Stronger
lifting program. To supplement this, students may design
their own fitness program or one can be provided for them. All sets will be recorded in a
journal. Students will study the five
Health Related Parts of Fitness throughout the year. Students will learn to incorporate the FIT
Formula into each area…Flexibility-Muscular Strength-Muscular Endurance-Body
Composition-Cardiovascular Endurance.
Each area will be assessed.
 
Internet Driver’s
License required.
Get homework in on time.
Bring in two #2 pencils.
